It’s a sad day for the Las Vegas franchise infamous for its “Quadruple Bypass Burger.”
And it’s an even greater tragedy for the family of John Alleman. The 52-year old “unofficial spokesman” for the Heart Attack Grill has died of an apparent heart attack while waiting for the bus.
“I told him if you keep eating like this, it’s going to kill ya,” the restaurant’s owner Jon Basso said, according to Yahoo!. “He’d say, ‘I just love your place, Jon.’ He’s the only person I know who was probably at the restaurant more than I [was]; he’d be here every darned day.”
According to the Las Vegas Sun, which broke the story, Basso will continue to serve his high-calorie food because “The grill is where you can be yourself. We accept people as they are.”
